On Wednesday, June 3, Young Professionals in Energy (YPE) Pittsburgh held their Elite Crew Change in St. Clairsville, OH, which is the farthest west the event has been held. The event was hosted by Mustang Oilfield Services at the Belmont Hills Country Club. It was also the first time an outdoor YPE Elite Crew Change was hosted at a country club. Participants were treated to appetizers, drinks, horse ice sculpture, and door prizes, which included Pirates tickets and shirts.

ype1“YPE Pittsburgh was excited to host an Elite Crew Change in St. Clairsville. It is wonderful to see what new businesses and opportunities the shale oil and gas industry has brought to the community, like Mustang Oilfield Services. Two young people, Greg and Megan Cook, saw an opportunity for a new business in a growing industry and said ‘I can do that.’ They did it and formed a successful and growing company that has a stellar reputation in the industry,” relayed Josh Hickman, Chairman and Founder, YPE Pittsburgh.

Headquartered in St. Clairsville, Ohio, Mustang Oilfield Services LLC supports shale gas companies that drill wells in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia. The company is primarily a water hauler, but also hauls all general oilfield equipment, averting drilling companies from running out of water, supplies, and equipment. Mustang offers an array of water amenities including: water acquisitions, fresh water and residual waste hauling, and water transfer services.

ype2Megan Cook, Director of Marketing, Mustang Oilfield Services, expressed, “The Ohio Valley is starting to see more activity in the industry. We are so excited to have everybody here in our backyard. It was a great first event here in Ohio, where we were able to bring a bunch of different businesses together that had never met to make new contacts and network.”

YPE’s mission is to provide a forum for knowledge sharing and camaraderie among future leaders of the energy industry, while their Crew Changes (social networking events) strive to draw those in the energy industry together in a relaxed after-hours atmosphere. The events are held either in Pittsburgh, PA or the surrounding area. However, their name doesn’t exactly represent the organization. YPE welcomes members of all ages and is for anyone involved in the all-encompassing energy industry.

“YPE Pittsburgh has been shifting over the past two years to a model supported by membership and hosting events at the local offices of energy industry participants. The way I see it is that we are growing into an organization that is supported by its members and even more responsive to them as well. Our events focus on making connections and highlighting our sponsor companies, like Mustang Oilfield Services,” stated Hickman.

ype3The event brought out many familiar faces in addition to drawing many first-time attendees from eastern Ohio. Some of the companies and organizations represented at the event included Aerotek, Belmont College, Crescent Directional Drilling, Dempsey Sight Management Services, MPR Supply Chain Solutions, Ohio Valley Energy Technology Academy, Pittsburgh Technology Management, Top Hand Training, and Vavco.

“YPE events are really great to attend for networking purposes and the camaraderie. People do business with people,” stated Ronald Remp, President and Owner, Wheeling Truck Center. Additionally, Lue Ann Pawlick, Owner, Frac Water Resources, added, “The Elite Crew Change was held in a beautiful setting. Plus, I was able to see some friends in the industry, which is always good; and I met some new people that I’m going to be working with. I’m very excited about what has happened tonight.”

YPE’s next event, the annual Legendary Summer Bash, will be held at the Hofbrauhaus in Pittsburgh from 5-8 pm on August 6. For more information about YPE Pittsburgh, click here. For more on Mustang Oilfield Services, click here.
